# Customize your public page

> Preview templates, branding and colors on your actual community page.

You must be signed in as the project owner. Open **Settings → Open appearance editor**, or choose **Configure appearance** from the public page while using your owner account.

## Make changes

1. Choose the **Light** or **Dark** template.
2. Set a brand image if needed. One image serves the public header and browser tab. Supported uploads are PNG, JPEG, WebP and SVG up to 5 MiB.
3. Choose a brand color.
4. With Pro, optionally hide **Powered by Feedback Loop** or add [custom CSS](/customize/custom-css).
5. Inspect the live preview, then choose **Save changes**.

Saving publishes appearance only. Cancel, Escape, the close button or clicking outside discards unsaved appearance edits. After saving, check both Feature requests and Release notes.

## Themes and fallback images

The public template is independent of the workspace's Light, Dark or System preference. Changing the workspace theme does not change what visitors see.

Resetting the brand image uses the website favicon when available, then header initials and the application favicon. If you need a predictable icon, upload a brand image rather than relying on a cached website favicon.

## Pro changes

Custom CSS and hidden branding require Pro. Saved paid settings are retained on downgrade but paid appearance effects are suspended. Restoring Pro makes the retained configuration available again. Basic templates, brand images and colors are included on Free.

## Troubleshooting

If you cannot see the editor, return to the dashboard and open the page through its appearance action. A visitor's website account does not grant owner access. If CSS is rejected, use the error location and the [supported CSS reference](/customize/custom-css).
